I love Roku devices. They’ve been my go to streaming hardware for several years now, and both TVs in my home have Roku devices attached to them. Meanwhile, I am less enthused about Netflix, as a whole, and have been for about three years. Having to repeatedly suffer through untimely cancelations of some of your favorite shows will make anyone bitter. But while I have my problems with Netflix as a service, the fact is I wouldn’t want anyone else popping up to try and acquire Roku either....

The Qualcomm S5 and S3 Gen 2 sound platforms support Snapdragon Sound, Qualcomm’s collection of audio technology for making sure that music, phone calls and games sound just right on your mobile device. These newest platforms promise improvements to spatial audio, lossless music streaming and latency over Bluetooth. Some of the features that are part of the Qualcomm S5 and S3 Gen 2 sound platforms aren’t huge surprises, as they were touched upon when the chip maker announced its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 silicon for flagship Android phones earlier this week....

Nintendo Switch sales are slowing down, and Nintendo can’t do much about it. Between market saturation and supply chain issues, Nintendo is simply selling a whole lot fewer Switches than it used to. One possible solution would be for Nintendo to produce a new console, perhaps something powerful enough to compete directly with the PS5 or Xbox Series X. But that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon. Information comes from Bloomberg journalist Takashi Mochizuki on his Twitter account....

While we’re excited to see where Samsung takes QD-OLED technology, it’s OLED alone that we think had its best year yet. Most of the innovation is credited to LG, the manufacturer of the top-rated LG C2 OLED TV and LG G2 OLED TV. The global launch of OnePlus’ new flagship will take place on March 31 at 10 a.m. ET/ 3 p.m. U.K. OnePlus has announced this announcement, with its typical flair, by launching a modified version of the phone into space to take some attractive horizon shots. After three months of waiting, users outside China will now be able to pre-order the phone from the March 31, with a free pair of OnePlus Buds Pro earbuds if they do so through OnePlus’ own online store....

According to Digital Chat Station (opens in new tab) on Chinese social media platform Weibo (via TechRadar (opens in new tab)), a OnePlus 10T will supposedly arrive this year with some curious specs. In some ways, this phone beats the OnePlus 10 Pro, but yet it’s inferior in others. Digital Chat Station, who has a moderately accurate track record, claims that the phone in question may not actually be called the OnePlus 10T....

Regardless of its short-lived lifespan, Night Sky did make its mark on television history. The show’s first episode was beamed into outer space and set a record for the furthest distance from earth a TV series has been distributed. Connolly, Night Sky was a sci-fi drama centered on a seemingly normal husband and wife living in Illinois....

There’s a lot to be excited for regarding VR on PS5. With PSVR 2, PlayStation gamers should expect massive spec bumps across the board. From 2000 x 2040 resolution OLED screens to built-in cameras, PSVR 2 is a welcome upgrade. Not only that, Sony is claiming eye tracking with foveated rendering, HDR, built-in headset rumble and an expanded field of view. But the VR landscape has changed tremendously since Sony entered the VR market with its first PSVR back in 2016....

That’s exciting because these are the first two cards in AMD’s new 7000 series of Radeon GPUs, and the first AMD GPUs to sport a “chiplet” design like the company’s Ryzen CPUs. When they show up on store shelves tomorrow (December 13) the Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX (which cost $899 and $999, respectively) will be the top end of the new AMD Radeon RX 7000 GPU line. Based on hands-on testing by other outlets it sounds like they offer good reasons to buy one over a new $1,200 Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080....

This handheld runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 Gaming Platform chipset that’s able to tap into fast 5G mmWave networks, as well as Verizon’s C-Band 5G and 4G LTE networks. It has the scope to intelligently switch between the different networks using the Qualcomm 5G Fixed Wireless Access Platform. The Razer Edge seems to draw its inspiration from the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x gaming device revealed last year. That Qualcomm device debuted as a developer-only kit made in collaboration with Razer to get software makers building on the Snapdragon gaming platform....

As it turns out, I was half-right. Like the Kaira Pro for Xbox, the Kaira Pro for PS5 features excellent sound and a comfortable fit. Unlike the Kaira Pro for Xbox, however, the Kaira Pro for PS5 includes needless haptic features, which drive up the price, as well as convoluted customization features and cumbersome navigation options. The Kaira Pro for PS5 might be a worthwhile investment — If you can get it on sale, and if you feel like ignoring the haptics, and if you get the hang of the myriad navigation options....

As much as iOS is integral to the iPhone, realityOS (or perhaps, rOS) will be a major part of using Apple’s first mixed reality headset. In fact, it could be what truly separates Apple’s AR/VR headset from all the other best VR headsets on the market. References to a reality operating system have been uncovered in versions of Apple’s other software products, while a recent trademark application appears to confirm realityOS as the software’s working name or branding....

If any car, or indeed marque is ideally suited to electrification then it must be the Spectre and Rolls-Royce. It marks a move away from big, gas-powered cars towards a whole range of battery powered models from this legendary luxury brand. That’s because leaker Ice Universe (opens in new tab) has the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldables tipped to be equipped with a new “swipe for split screen” gesture. It sounds like this will make it easier for you to use multiple apps simultaneously, rather than the convoluted way you currently need to use to open apps in a split screen format. The obvious way to make the most of the larger displays on foldable phones is to have more apps open at once....

The majority of these come from leaker Ahmed Qwaider (opens in new tab) (via SamMobile (opens in new tab)), who provides a new set of renders (see above) of the rumored foldable, as well as claims of upgrades. First off, the Z Fold 4 will apparently have 25W charging according to Qwaider, which is the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 3. However, the Z Fold 4 will allegedly be capable of filling its battery to 50% in half an hour when using a compatible 25W charger, which is slightly quicker than the 47% the Z Fold 3 could manage in the same time....
